Friends have paid tribute to firefighter Ho Wai-ho, who died while battling the five-alarm fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po on Wednesday.
The 37-year-old, who had served with the Fire Services Department for nine years and was stationed at Sha Tin Fire Station as a member of the "small relief" team, lost contact during firefighting operations at 3:30pm. He was found unconscious with facial burns in an open area outside Wang Cheong House half an hour later and was pronounced dead after emergency hospital treatment.
Friends took to social media to mourn Ho, sharing a graduation photo from fire services school with the message: "Please remember the hero's face. We won't forget you. Thank you for giving everything for us. You're off duty now, rest well bro..."
