Commissioner of Police Joe Chow Yat-ming led the Hong Kong delegation to the 93rd Session of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) General Assembly to engage in dialogue on transnational law enforcement.
This year's General Assembly, which took place from Monday (Nov 24) to Thursday in Marrakech, Morocco, is INTERPOL's supreme governing body and comprises delegates appointed by the governments of member countries."
The event brought together more than a thousand police leaders and department representatives from 196 member states across the globe, according to the police.
Police stated that it will engage in exchanges with participating parties on security governance and cross-border law enforcement cooperation.
Efforts will also be made to promote institutionalized collaboration and achieve the best alignment to further strengthen the connection with international standards.
The participation in the General Assembly also reflects the police's strategic direction of achieving "internal connectivity and external outreach," it added.
