In a historic breakthrough for Hong Kong fencing, the men's foil team has seized gold at the National Games for the very first time, triumphing over Fujian with a score of 45-34.

The match kicked off with an impressive display of skill and strategy from the Hong Kong squad, composed of Olympic gold medalist Edgar Cheung Ka-long, the city’s inaugural men’s foil world champion Ryan Choi Chun-yin, and rising stars Leung Chin-yu and Lawrence Ng Lok-wang.
They launched into the competition with remarkable vigor, securing an early lead of 15-13 after the first three rounds.
Maintaining their momentum, the team steadily increased their advantage to a commanding nine-point lead before concluding the showdown with a decisive 45-34 victory.
The men's foil team will be receiving HK$1.5 million cash incentives under the Jockey Club Athlete Incentive Awards Scheme.
