Customs officers find drugs in mini-storage after To Kwa Wan knife attack

Three customs officers were slashed with a knife during a drug operation in To Kwa Wan on Thursday, with the suspect remaining at large after escaping through a kitchen window.

The incident occurred around 5pm when seven Customs Drug Investigation Bureau officers spotted a suspicious man aged 30-40 leaving a target unit at Honour Building. Officers stopped the man and escorted him back inside for a search.

The suspect suddenly attacked, grabbing a 30-centimeter kitchen knife and slashing three officers before locking himself inside the unit. Customs called for police backup, but when officers forced entry they found the unit empty with the kitchen window open.

Authorities later searched a mini-storage unit 200 meters away in Luen Fat Mansion, seizing a quantity of drugs. A car believed to belong to the suspect was also located in Grandview Garden parking lot.

The suspect is described as a 38-year-old man surnamed Wu, muscular build, 175-180cm tall, last seen wearing black T-shirt, green shorts and black sneakers. The case has been transferred to the West Kowloon regional crime unit.
