A 13-year-old male secondary school student was left semi-conscious and bleeding on the road after being struck by a light goods vehicle on Hing Shing Road in Kwai Chung on Friday afternoon.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene at around 12.29pm following reports of the collision outside the boy’s school. Upon arrival, paramedics found the Secondary Two student injured and in a semi-conscious state. He was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital for urgent treatment.
An initial on-site investigation revealed a light goods vehicle with a visibly dented front bumper. Stains of blood were also visible on the road surface near the point of impact.
According to sources, the teenager was crossing Hing Shing Road after leaving the school premises for lunch when the van collided with him.
The male driver of the vehicle has been taken to a nearby police station for questioning as authorities work to determine the exact cause of the accident.
The school's vice-principal accompanied the injured student to the hospital. Police investigation is ongoing.
