With the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China just around the corner, the Tai Po community is gearing up for a series of celebrations this Saturday.
The Tai Po District Council held a meeting on Tuesday(Sep 22), where the Working Group on Boosting Local Economy discussed the activities for the 76th National Day to boost the local economy.
Kicking off the festivities, the Tai Po Lam Tsuen River Water Stage Performance and Fireworks Show is set to take place from 6pm to 9pm at the junction of the Lam Tsuen River and Tai Po River on Saturday(Sep 27).
The fireworks display will begin at 8 pm, featuring approximately 760 pyrotechnics that will dazzle the audience for five minutes.
Eunice Chan Hau Man, the District Officer (Tai Po) from the Home Affairs Department, clarified that the event will showcase "pyrotechnics" rather than traditional fireworks, emphasizing that the scale will not be comparable to the Victoria Harbour displays.
In addition to the fireworks, guests can enjoy a variety of performances on the water stage, including dance, martial arts, and singing.
