Hong Kong’s hottest male idol, 26-year-old Keung To from mega-group MIRROR, has made a spirited comeback after a terrifying ordeal in June when he accidentally fell into the sea near Sai Wan and was submerged for nearly 10 minutes before being rescued by a passing boat.

The incident, which sparked widespread concern, left the singer emotionally drained. After completing urgent work commitments, his management company granted him an extended break to recover.
A fresh start with a New BMW
Exclusive photos obtained by East Week reveal Keung To’s post-crisis rejuvenation—channeling his energy into basketball and a short getaway to recharge.
But the biggest surprise? The pop sensation has officially become a car owner, splurging HK$600,000 on a sleek black BMW iX electric vehicle.
Despite confessing he once window-shopped for Ferraris after acing his driving test in just 15 minutes, Keung opted for practicality.
A close friend shared, "He considered a supercar but chose the BMW for family outings.
Fellow MIRROR member Edan Lui, also a BMW driver, convinced him. Plus, he loves that EVs are eco-friendly and help him avoid paparazzi at gas stations." The singer reportedly handpicks car accessories and dotes on his new ride like "a beloved wife"—parking lot visits included.
Basketball as therapy
Keung To’s other antidote to stress? Basketball. He was spotted playing in a local league match in Tai Kok Tsui, sporting stubble and fierce determination.
After sitting out the first half, he dove into the game—literally—scuffling with opponents and even taking a tumble. His team, "Wai Kee," clinched a 43-38 victory, with Keung cheering wildly.
Off-court, he’s been hitting street games too, once rolling on the ground mid-match in pure exhilaration.
What’s next for Keung?
The star is now prepping for his TMELive International Music Awards performance on August 22—"the most intense rehearsals of my career," he admits—followed by appearances at Taiwan’s GQ Culture Fest and an NBA event in Macao this October. Fans can also expect his 19th single and a solo concert in December.
As for that custom "KEUNG TO" license plate a fan bought for HK$38,000? It’s still MIA on his BMW.
But given his rebound mantra—"don’t wait till you’re sick to care for yourself"—this idol’s clearly shifting gears toward joy.
