Meet Fresh's Yuen Long branch asset up for auction after eight HK outlets closure

The equipment from the Yuen Long branch of Taiwanese dessert chain Meet Fresh has been put up for auction, following the closure of its five stores in just two and a half months.

A post on a Facebook group showed a notice posted by Associated Surveyors & Auctioneers Limited outside the Meet Fresh store located at Yuen Long Plaza, announcing the auction of equipment, furniture, and other items, without specifying the reason.

The brand has shut down a total of eight branches this year. Five of these, located in Tseung Kwan O, Mong Kok, Tin Shui Wai, Fanling, and Tai Po, have been closed since June.

After entering the Hong Kong market in 2019, Meet Fresh’s signature handmade taro balls, herbal jelly, and shaved ice desserts once drew huge crowds, with customers lining up for hours.

At its peak, Meet Fresh operated 19 branches across Hong Kong. 

However, its official website shows that only nine outlets remain, including locations in Causeway Bay, Tsim Sha Tsui, and Kwun Tong.
