On the following day, about 1.34 million trips were logged, including record highs of 180,000 and 110,000 travelers crossing the border via the Shenzhen Bay Port and Heung Yuen Wai Control Point, respectively.
The authorities emphasized that they have reduced leave for frontline staff and deployed additional manpower to ensure smooth operations at all control points.
Travelers are advised to check the waiting times at land border control points via the department’s mobile app and plan their trips in advance.
