City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) is ranked 16th in the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings, and it ranks 1st in Hong Kong for both the "Industry" and "International Outlook" indicators.
The 2025 THE Asia University Rankings cover a total of 853 universities from 35 Asian countries or regions and rank the universities based on five indicators: "Industry", "International Outlook," "Research Quality", "Research Environment", and "Teaching".
CityUHK is one of two universities in Hong Kong ranked within the top 30 in Asia for all five indicators.
"CityUHK's teaching and research quality is progressing continuously, maintaining a leading global position in promoting internationalized education," the president and university distinguished professor Freddy Boey said.
"Recently, CityUHK achieved the remarkable distinction of being named the 'Most International University in the World' for the second consecutive year," he added, noting that the university will continue to lead the development and internationalization of higher education, strengthening Hong Kong's position as a hub for higher education in Asia and internationally.
