Shifting sands of 'luckiest' Mark Six betting branches

In their pursuit of luck in the Mark Six lottery, many residents traveled across different districts to place their bets at the so-called "luckiest betting branch." Meanwhile, some internet users noticed a shift in luck among various stations, which sparked lively discussions online.

The Central Stanley Street branch was reputed as the "luckiest" betting branch owing to its record of 47 top prize-winning tickets since 1994, drawing crowds whenever there is a huge Mark Six snowball.

However, a keen-eye player posted the 10 lucky betting station details on Facebook titled "Stanley Street betting branch, no wins since 2019", highlighting that other stations appear to be catching up while the Stanley Street branch has seen no winners in the past six years.

Among the top ten best-selling first prize-winning ticket branches, Tuen Mun Town Plaza ranked second with 44 wins, followed closely by the HKJC on Castle Peak Road in Tsuen Wan, which had 41 wins, two of which were recorded as recently as 2023 and last year, respectively.

As of August 2024, two Tai Po betting stations made the list. Tai Po Plaza station ranked eighth with three consecutive wins, while the Kwong Fuk Road station stood tenth with records of 30 wins.

The post sparked a wave of pride among Tai Po and Tuen Mun residents, with comments celebrating their area as the lucky spot and some suggesting purchasing the same set numbers in different branches to see which district will win.

Meanwhile, some internet users believed that luck was all that mattered, claiming that the location of the branch was irrelevant because top winners would win regardless of where they placed their bets.
