A middle-aged man attempted to jump from the sixth floor of a parking lot in Lam Tin on Wednesday morning.
He climbed over the parking lot railings at Hong Pak Court and stood on the edge at around 8.26 am, prompting residents to alert the police.
Firefighters deployed air cushions while negotiators engaged the man to talk him back to safety. It is understood that the man was facing financial difficulties and debts.
He eventually returned to safety after almost three hours of negotiation at around 11 am, and was sent to United Christian Hospital by ambulance.
