The Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) will open its themed café to the public on Friday (Nov 15), in an effort to attract visitors and promote anti-corruption efforts.
The café, named "1974" after the anti-graft watchdog's founding year, is located on the ground floor lobby of its headquarters, offering four different drinks and two snacks.
The coffee beans served at the café come from regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, including Yunnan, Vietnam, and Africa.
The ICAC's Director of Community Relations, Diman Mak Wai-keung, stated that they hope to attract more residents and visitors through the café to spread anti-corruption messages and publicize the work of ICAC.
Mak also mentioned that Po Leung Kuk will operate the café, while the revenue will be used for charitable purposes.
He added that the ICAC will charge a service fee as rent, which will be deposited into the treasury.
