Garrett Popcorn Shops, a well-known brand in the city, announced that it will cease operations in Hong Kong this month.
The brand announced on Tuesday night that it will prepare its final batches this month and express gratitude for customer support over the past 13 years.
"We've loved being part of your city and look forward to returning one day soon," the shop said in a Facebook post.
Netizens have expressed profound regret regarding the brand's decision, with many leaving comments imploring the shop to reconsider its closure, likening it to "the end of the world."
Garrett Popcorn entered the Hong Kong market in 2011 and currently has six branches across the city. The brand was founded in 1949 in Chicago, the United States, and is known for its fresh popcorn made daily in small batches.
