After the Individual Visit Scheme was expanded, it was able to facilitate Ocean Park in attracting more tourists from the mainland.
The chairman said that in the first five months of the year, the park saw a 1.5-fold increase in visitors compared to the same period of the previous year, describing it as an encouraging stimulus.
Among them, the percentage of mainland visitors was a majority and saw a year-on-year 1.6-fold increase.
He said the first half of the year was relatively good, and it will continue to coordinate with government measures to stimulate travel throughout the park to reap more benefits.
Pong said that the park has greeted new tourists arriving on the expanded scheme and introduced them to various facilities, suggesting that extending the scheme to further cities can stimulate the business of the park.
The chairman said they have tried various discounts and offers and have helped Water World break the record for the most visitors in a day to date.
It is aiming to assess the crowd control measures, such as traffic, to make it more convenient for visitors.
He also announced that starting from June 6 until September 1, the Water World Ocean Park will be hosting an ocean party, which will be themed around Olympic events and feature competitions such as the Water Volleyball Battle, Water Basketball Battle, and Watery Tug of Battle to allow visitors to embrace the Olympic spirit.
