Police were alerted to Fanling after a woman was struck by a van Tuesday morning.

According to a video that leaked online today, a woman was cycling in Fanling at 7.38 am and attempted to turn right into the other lane as she reached the junction of Lok Yi Road and On Kui Street.
However, the woman would not allow the other vehicles to pass and did not pay attention to the vehicles that were driving in the other lane, continuing to cycle on.
She was then struck by a van that was unable to stop in time, causing the woman to bounce back and fall to the ground, with her belongings scattering all over the floor.
She eventually sat up and seemed to have suffered injuries to her leg.
A police spokesman stated that they had received a report of a cyclist in her 50s being struck by a van at the junction of Lok Yi Road and On Kui Street and was taken to the Prince of Wales Hospital for medical attention.
They added that the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
After the video of the incident leaked online, many netizens pointed out that the woman was cycling recklessly, with many stating that she was not wearing a helmet or looking in the right direction before riding out onto the road.
There were some even stating that her actions could have caused bad consequences for the truck driver.
