Hong Kong's police chief finds stardom in mainland social media with his autographed photo

Mainland netizens have gotten a reply letter from the Hong Kong police chief with an autographed photo enclosed, leading to divided opinions from the community.

Several posts have been circulating on the Chinese social media site, Xiaohongshu of netizens receiving reply letters and an autographed photo from Police Commissioner Raymond Siu Chak-yee.

Most of the replies from Siu thanked them for their support and stating the Hong Kong Police Force would do their best to ensure the sanctity of the One Country, Two Systems.

Some commented positively on the interaction, saying they were jealous of the autographed photo. But some critiqued and stated the responsibility of a police chief is not to reply to fan letters and sign autographs, adding that the netizens sending letters to Siu are just increasing the workload of a police chief.
