In the original proposal announced in 2019, the government said it will take back 32 hectares of land from the golf club east of Fan Kam Road and build 4,600 units – 70 percent of which will be earmarked for public housing.
Secretary for Development Michael Wong Wai-lun told an interview that the government is now hoping to build over 10,000 housing flats on the site, with all of them earmarked as public units.
The development chief also said he expects relevant town planning procedures to begin in two to three months, with the site ready for development in September 2023.
