New legislative term starts on same day as policy speech

October 14 will be the start date of the new legislative year in accordance with the Legislative Council Ordinance, the government has said.
The Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor had earlier announced that she will deliver the annual policy address on the same day.

Consultations with varous stakeholders are to be held online, to seek input on policies.
