Man hospitalized after fire breaks out at Chungking Mansions guesthouse

A fire erupted at a guesthouse inside Chungking Mansions in Tsim Sha Tsui early Monday, leading to one person being hospitalized for smoke inhalation. 

Emergency services were alerted at approximately 1:00 am after a security guard at the building, located at 40 Nathan Road, reported thick smoke billowing from one of the units.

Firefighters arrived at the scene shortly after the call and successfully extinguished the blaze. A male resident who inhaled smoke during the incident remained conscious and was transported to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for medical treatment. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire, though initial reports do not indicate any suspicious circumstances.
