Nine-car trains for East Rail

New nine-car trains will be introduced to the East Rail line from the middle of this year, the MTR Corp said today in an update.

Also, a new signaling system will be operational by the middle of the year and new tracks will be laid at Hung Hom Station in the third quarter.

The MTR Corp will monitor passenger volume and adjust services to suit demand.
