Hospital Authority to activate designated clinics

Under Secretary for Food and Health, Chui Tak-yi, said today the Hospital Authority will activate designated clinics in phases in response to the epidemic situation.

In the first phase, seven general clinics in the seven hospital clusters can be transformed into designated clinics in the space of two days.

The clinics will isolate and treat suspected Wuhan coronavirus patients, who have fever and mild symptoms, and operate seven days a week.

Meanwhile, Chui said a total of 161 mandatory home quarantine orders have been issued to 80 families since Tuesday. As at 9:00am today, 144 orders involving 70 families are still effective.

Among the three quarantine centers, 87 units out of a total of 97 units have been occupied and the government will need to find more suitable sites, he said.
