OpenAI's chief scientist, Jakub Pachocki, recently told the staff in an internal memo that GPT-5.6 will be a "meaningful improvement" over GPT-5.5.
The GPT-5.6 family will include the standard GPT-5.6 model and Mini and Pro variants. Its rollout is expected to take place next week.
The context window of the GPT-5.6 may expand from 1 million to 1.5 million tokens, with a 10 percent to 15 percent efficiency boost.
Meanwhile, the updated model is reported to outperform Anthropic's Mythos series in agentic coding and surpass Claude Fable 5 in the generation of scalable vector graphics.
