Foreign raiders set for HK

International racing stars Goliath, Mr Brightside and Liberty Island are among a strong foreign contingent set to take on Hong Kong's best on FWD Champions Day at Sha Tin on April 27.

Champions Day features three Group 1 races worth a total of HK$74 million: the HK$28 million G1 QEII Cup (2,000 meters), the HK$24 million G1 Champions Mile (1,600m) and the HK$22 million G1 Chairman's Sprint Prize (1,200m).

Local champion Romantic Warrior has won the last three editions of the QEII Cup but his absence this year seems to have sparked overseas interest in the race. Seven of the 14 runners in the QEII are foreign trained, including three from Japan.
