A Chinese brand once dubbed the "Hermes of ice cream" is receiving cold comments online after people said some products don't melt.The footage sparked consternation, prompting people to question the company's high prices and whether the products are overloaded with additives. The most expensive Chicecream costs 66 yuan (HK$77). The company says its products are in line with food safety regulations.
Videos show Chicecream ice creams staying solid when heat is applied went viral, revealing they did not melt fully when left in a 31 degree Celsius room for an hour or under a very hot flame.

"We believe it's not scientific to judge the quality of ice cream by baking, drying or heating ice cream," the brand said in a Weibo post.
Also noted was that stabilizers - additives to preserve structure - used in ice cream have been approved widely, including by the US Food and Drug Administration.
