Hosted at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre under the theme “Asia-Pacific Partnerships for Global Good,” the APAIE is expected to attract some 2,700 university leaders, policymakers, and industry experts from around 70 countries and regions.
Participants will engage in pre-conference workshops, keynote speeches, parallel sessions, roundtable discussions, networking events, and guided tours of local university campuses, fostering opportunities for professional networking and international collaboration.

As the lead host of the event after a 13-year hiatus, the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) rides on the event to launch the “Study in Hong Kong Week”. Joining forces with other universities funded by the University Grants Committee, they have set up a dedicated pavilion to underscore the city as a highly acclaimed international education hub and showcase its world-class universities and dynamic academic environment.
The pavilion is designed to deepen global understanding of Hong Kong’s educational strengths, build confidence among international stakeholders, and encourage cross-cultural and academic exchanges. The efforts will further bolster the international standing of the “Study in Hong Kong” brand.
“Hosting APAIE 2026 aligns perfectly with the government’s blueprint to position our city as an international education hub,” said CUHK’s vice-chancellor Dennis Lo Yuk-ming.
He noted a shift in international student mobility away from traditional destinations such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada, towards the Asia-Pacific region and Europe. “APAIE offers an ideal platform to showcase the strengths and achievements of Hong Kong’s tertiary education sector to global partners,” he added.
