HKEX launches data platform

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (0388) has launched a new online platform to allow global investors to access its historical and reference data.

The web-based product, HKEX Data Marketplace, uses a modern user interface with multiple data delivery channels, including cloud transfer, to provide data directly from the exchange. In its initial stage the platform will offer shareholding data from the central clearing and settlement system for commercial use, historical full book data from HKEX's securities and derivatives markets and securities market daily non-trading reference data.

HKEX chief executive Bonnie Chan Yi-ting said the data and analytics will complement the bourse's core business and bring exciting opportunities.

HKEX will add more features, including tools to customize data and additional options for data delivery in the future. The Chinese interface will be available in the first half of next year.
