The US-based biotech firm BioMap, which was set up by China's internet giant Baidu's (9888) founder Robin Li Yanhong, plans to list in Hong Kong within the next year and a half, Bloomberg reported.
BioMap, a life sciences and artificial intelligence model company, signed a strategic agreement in 2024 with the Hong Kong Investment Corporation – a government-owned fund that manages HK$62 billion in assets.
Chief executive Liu Wei said Hong Kong is the preferred initial public offering destination for early-stage tech companies like BioMap.
BioMap was founded in 2020 by Robin Li and Liu, former Baidu Ventures CEO. The firm has developed more than 50 early-stage drug candidates to date.
