Kim was one of most promising actresses in South Korea, but her career took hit after a drunk driving incident in 2022. A court fined her 20 million won (HK$108,000) in April 2023.
A friend who was going to meet Kim visited her home and discovered her and called the police at around 4.50pm local time, Yonhap News Agency said.
"We have not found any signs of foul play as of yet, but we are investigating the circumstances of the death," a police official said.
Born in 2000, Kim debuted as a child actor in 2009. She rose to fame with her appearances in the 2010 film "The Man from Nowhere" and the 2012 thriller "The Neighbor."
"Bloodhounds," released in 2023, was her last work.
