Police received the report around 11.36 pm that the Indonesian mother assaulted her three daughters, aged 11 to 17, and her oldest son, aged 19, with her hands and a water bottle in their home in May Lun Building on Luen On Street.
It is understood that the mother, who holds a Hong Kong identity card, was not happy about her children singing too loudly.
After a preliminary investigation, police arrested the mother for ill-treatment or neglect towards young persons.
The children mostly sustained injuries to their limbs while one had a head injury. They were all sent to North District Hospital for treatment.
