A 49-year-old man in custody was previously detained on December 16 (Saturday) for trafficking in dangerous drugs.
After the correctional officers arranged for him to undergo an X-ray body examination, they suspected that he had swallowed drugs before being taken into custody, so they isolated him and monitored him closely.
At 10:10 a.m. today, the person in custody discharged six suspected drugs wrapped in adhesive tape.
The Correctional Services Department has handed the case to the police for follow-up.
A spokesman for the Correctional Services Department said that the department strives to take preventive measures to intercept the flow of drugs and unauthorized items into correctional institutions to ensure good order and maintain a "drug-free" detention environment.
