Tuen Mun Yau Oi Estate resident among 12 new Covid infections

A Covid patient who lives in Block 2 Oi Fai House of Yau Oi Estate in Tuen Mun is among 12 new Covid cases confirmed by the Department of Health today.

The patient is an 84-year-old man who lives on the 8th floor of the Covid-hit residential building.

In view of the building recording another confirmed case, authorities this noon evacuated residents who live on the same floor as the 84-year-old.

Health officials said they have evacuated a total of 30 residents from 11 units.

The remaining 11 Covid patients were all imported cases, including returnees from India, the United States, and the Philippines.

Hong Kong's tally now stands at 11,696 cases including 209 deaths.
