The Real Estate Developers Association of Hong Kong said today the Hong Kong national security law will serve to safeguard national security and strengthen the continuation of “One Country, Two Systems,” which will guarantee the well being of all citizens in a stable and prosperous Hong Kong.

In a statement this afternoon, the association said it fully supports the passing of the "Decision on establishing and improving the legal system and enforcement mechanisms for the Hong Kong SAR to safeguard national security" by the National People’s Congress in Beijing.

"A stable and orderly environment is of critical importance to maintaining Hong Kong’s status as an international financial center. Escalating violence and vandalism is posing serious threat to our rule of law and the foundation of 'One Country, Two Systems', putting our economy and the livelihood of Hong Kong people in grave peril."
