Former Chinese Vice Premier Zou Jiahua succumbed to his illnesses late Sunday night in Beijing, as reported by state media Xinhua News Agency. He was 99 years old.
Xinhua described Zou as an outstanding member of the Communist Party, an experienced and loyal advocate for communism, and an excellent leader in the nation’s economy, defense industry, and socialist legal system.
Born in 1926, Zou joined the Communist Party in 1945 and served as a member of the Politburo of the 14th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
