Hongkongers aged 60 and over will need JoyYou card to enjoy HK$2 fare from Sunday

Starting this Sunday, Hongkongers aged 60 or above will need to use the personalized transport cards - the JoyYou card - to enjoy the elderly concessionary fares of HK$2, the MTR Corporation said.

Meanwhile, passengers aged 65 or above who continue to use the anonymous elderly and ordinary personalized Octopus cards could only enjoy a concessionary fare of about half the adult fare, said the railway operator.

An MTR spokesman reminded that the process of applying for the JoyYou card takes about four weeks and eligible individuals should submit their applications as soon as possible.
