The Tsing Yi community isolation facility has reached 80 percent of its capacity on Tuesday, with around 970 rooms occupied by persons who are in isolation.
A Security Bureau spokesperson said since the launch of a new Covid-reporting hotline for admission to community isolation facilities, the responses have been favorable and more patients will be admitted to the facility later.
To let quarantined persons feel at ease in an unfamiliar environment, the bureau said it would continue to refine its services at the facility, including actively communicating with occupants by adopting small-district management and humanized approach, striving to provide appropriate services in response to their comments and needs.
Appropriate food will also be provided according to the patient's physical condition, with up to four choices of meals with meat and vegetables as well as halal and vegetarian meals provided every day. Fruits will also be served, according to the spokesperson.
The cleaning contractor will also enhance disinfection and cleaning to ensure better hygiene in the toilets and shower compartments, with disinfectant hand soap provided in bathrooms.
Meanwhile, the bureau said with the support from local communities, complimentary daily newspapers were provided at the facility, with the provision of other books and magazines currently being arranged. Children under quarantine could also be provided with toys.
The bureau added that further arrangements could be made to allow persons under quarantine to view different online entertainment platforms for free and set up 5G network coverage and provide free local data when needed.
