Singing along again on the MTR

The boy who achieved local fame by expressing his excitement at last year's opening of the Tuen Ma rail line by singing his own line has gone on a repeat run for the East Rail Line cross-harbor extension.

That came with the MTR Corp inviting celebrities to sing and dance for a music video for Sunday's start of services.

And along for the ride was 17-year-old train enthusiast Jason Law Zit-sum, who arrived at Sung Wong Toi Station on the Tuen Ma Line last June 27 at 4.15am to witness the opening.

On being approached there by a TVB interviewer Jason sang "I'm really excited about the opening of the Tuen Ma Line" to the Greensleeves melody. It was an instant hit on the internet when a video of the interview played.

Knowing a good melody when he used it, Jason stuck to Greensleeves for the extension as he sang "I am extremely excited at being able to get to Hong Kong Island via Hung Hom."

A tad prosaic, perhaps, but it does the job.

Others featuring on the video include Olympics badminton athlete Tse Ying-suet, actresses Louise Lee Si-kei and Renci Yeung Sze-wing, singer Stephanie Cheng Yung, TV host Eric Tsui Ho-cheong and internet celebrity Ray Chan.
