Yum China CEO sells Discovery Bay home for nearly HK$10m

Joey Wat, chief executive of fast-food company Yum China (9987), has sold a three-bedroom unit at Discovery Bay La Serene for HK$9.6 million.

The 1,013 square feet unit fetched HK$9,477 per sq ft. Wat originally bought the home in 2000 for about HK$5.28 million - a paper gain of HK$4.32 million after a 26-year holding.

Wat has been making frequent moves in the property market recently. She acquired a 1,411 sq ft, three-bedroom unit at The Colonnade on Tai Hang Road in Mid-Levels in May for HK$51.7 million, or HK$36,641 per sq ft.
