Sun Hung Kai Properties (0016) has resubmitted an application to the Town Planning Board for a site in Kwu Tung, seeking to offer 1,062 flats – 17 percent more than what was proposed in its previous plan.
This came with the upcoming policy address being expected to release more support for the Northern Metropolis.
Adjacent to its luxury project Valais, the site currently serves as a comprehensive development area.
The developer had planned to construct three residential buildings on the site, which are expected to be completed in 2032.
Notably, SHKP had earlier applied to build six residential buildings at the site in 2021, offering 909 flats.
The land spans 210,878 square feet, of which 56,748 sq ft belong to the government, while the remainder is owned by SHKP.
The current proposed residential project’s gross floor area is 424,102 sq ft, with each unit spanning 399 sq ft on average.
In 2019, the developer had asked to revise the application, proposing the construction of 37 houses with a 84,800-sq-ft GFA.
