Cozy up for global family-office forum

Standard Chartered is said to be holding its first global family office forum in Hong Kong on Tuesday and Wednesday, joining the pipeline of mega events in the SAR.

The forum, organized by the British bank will gather 140 representatives from 80 ultra-high-net-worth families all over the world, Sing Tao Daily learned, citing sources.

Among the guests are Justin Rockefeller, who is the great-great-grandson of US oil giant John Rockefeller and an American impact investor and financial technology professional - as well as Olivier Krug, pictured, the sixth-generation director of the Krug Champagne house in France. Standard Chartered will send half its group executives to support the forum, including sitting chief executive Bill Winters, according to sources.

The forum is also in line with the SAR's strategy of becoming a leading family office hub. As Hong Kong aims to speed up post-pandemic recovery, at least 210 mega events have been scheduled in the city this year.
