Riders participating in the 50-kilometer and 30km events at Sunday's Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon will finish their rides at the Jordan Road Flyover.
Temporary road closures will be implemented in phases across various locations in New Territories South, Kowloon West, and Tsim Sha Tsui, starting at 1am on Sunday, affecting 155 bus routes and 15 green minibus routes.
The board said: "We have received nearly 6,000 registrations for all six programs. Together with the Cyclothon Carnival, we anticipate about 36,000 participants for this year's event."
The festivities will commence with the 50km ride at 5.15am, featuring elite cyclists such as retired Olympic medalist Sarah Lee Wai-sze, three-time Asian Games gold medalist Wong Kam-po, and four-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome.Also, a non-competitive 32km ride will showcase local athletes, including fencers Ng Ho-tin and Yeung Chi-ka, as well as squash player Ho Tze-lok.
Spectators can enjoy the events at the Tsim Sha Tsui Waterfront Park or near Empire Centre. The Cyclothon Carnival will run from 6.30am to 3pm, offering free workout sessions and opportunities to purchase cycling equipment.
