Over the weekend, Derek Li Shing-lam wrote that his 28-year-old son is going through a tough time enduring the uncontrollable trembles and sweats, after he was severely injured during a Mirror concert accident in July, when he was hit head-on by a falling gigantic television screen.
"Please pray that Mo can catch up with rehabilitation and recover very soon," he said.
The good news is that the dancer can now walk over 400 steps with the aid of an exoskeleton.
He will begin using Erigo - a robotic system with gradual verticalization, leg mobilization and intensive sensorimotor stimulation that offers patients safe and early mobilization - this week.
The device has been installed and passed a trial run.
"Hope [Erigo] will help Mo's blood circulation in his joints and muscles, and also stimulate the overall sensation and operation in his nervous system."
Li said Mo's caretaker also faced challenges because even the slightest move during hair cutting, face washing, nail clipping, and even getting changed could induce discomfort or even pain.
"The carer bears tremendous psychological stress. Let's pray for the carers' confidence and courage so she can adapt to Mo's needs," he said.
His son is taking drugs and supplements from western and Chinese medicine in hopes that they can facilitate his metabolism, clear toxins and stimulate his nervous system, he added.
Li said he and his wife saw other hospital patients suffering from critical illnesses and had been invited to share experiences of taking care of their son and overcoming trauma.
"They wished we can share our thoughts during difficult times, and how we had the courage to overcome the hurdles. But we have limited time and energy and excuse us for not being about to do so," Li wrote, thanking them.

Mo Lee is set for get around easier with the help of a robotic system.
