Longfor chief tops female tycoons

Wu Yajun, chairwoman of Chinese developer Longfor (0960), is the world's most successful self-made women entrepreneur, says the Hurun Richest Self-Made Women in the World 2022.

The list shows that China has two-thirds of the world's most successful female entrepreneurs. That's 78, down by seven from last year.

The US is in second place with a total of 25, and the UK is third with five.

There are 19 fresh faces on the list, down from 43 last year.

Beijing remains the capital of the world's most successful woman entrepreneurs, with 14 of them living in the city.

The top five cities are all in China: Shenzhen is second at 11, up by one; Hangzhou is third at nine; Shanghai is fourth at eight; and Hong Kong is fifth with five, up by two.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area has become the most suitable region for women entrepreneurs, with 25 of the world's most successful women there.
