Boozy testing time plays out

As if they didn't have enough to try their patience, virus-test workers and residents of Sham Shui Po - particularly hard hit by Covid - had to contend with a drunken man not wearing a mask turning aggressive at a test center.

A video circulating online shows the intoxicated man - recognized as a character named Chan - wandering into the Maple Street Playground, turned into a temporary testing center.

After tripping over a folding stool the 43-year-old Chan recovers and heads in the direction of staff. They respond handily, with some trying to give him the shove-off in a regular way while one comes forward in lion-tamer style and tries to keep him away using a chair.

But Chan is in an ugly mood and won't back off. So four staff subdue him on the ground and call police.

Officers arrive and confirm they're dealing with a drunk, but he refuses to cooperate and sways off by himself.

The cops weren't finished, however, and arrested Chan later for disorderly conduct.
