Young Gigi impresses Fok

Legislative Council election candidate Kenneth Fok Kai-kong is cooing in admiration for teenager Gigi Yim Ming-hay after watching the champion of Stars Academy - a singing contest show organized by TVB - perform live.

He recalled watching and hearing 16-year-old Yim deliver a couple of numbers by "Diva of Asia" Faye Wong when he went to an event organized by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and Tsz Shan Monastery, remarking to The Standard that she also resembled Wong. "She is very calm and mature," he said.

And it is important to provide more opportunities for young people to perform and collaborate with others, Fok added.

The sports-minded Fok, who is running against William So Wai-leung in the legislative election, also said he's aware of 12-member Mirror playing snooker with Hong Kong pro Marco Fu Ka-chun and the boyband's upcoming television drama about swimming.
