Tai Koo residents witnessed a bizarre scene of three trams - the first pulling the second with a chain from its rear and the third bumping the second to push it forward - inching along the track.A clip on Facebook shows two trams chained together trundling from Tai Koo to Quarry Bay, with the one in the front dragging the one behind. A third tram with 10 passengers on board nudged the rear of the second tram forward.
Netizens suspected the second tram broke down and required "special assistance" to shunt it back to the depot.

Some netizens said they had never seen this before.
Others joked that the tram in the middle appeared to be "a lazy employee on strike" and said it resembled "free-riders" at work.
Other netizens explained that the second tram might have broken down, so another tram helped push it up a slope or to a section of track where there was electricity, as the engineering vehicle may take time to arrive.
