Hop On Management Company Limited, the administrator of the Incorporated Owners of Wang Fuk Court, said on Wednesday it is studying a court judgment while continuing to verify signatures and source a venue for a special owners’ general meeting.
The statement came after the Lands Tribunal dismissed the administrator’s application to postpone the meeting requested by the estate’s owners in late April.
The tribunal said requesting an owners’ meeting is a statutory right and that it had no jurisdiction to grant an extension. It ordered Hop On to hold the meeting as soon as possible.
In response to the ruling, Hop On said its application for an extension was made mainly because substantial preparation was required to organize the meeting.
It added that more time was needed to find a suitable venue and ensure a fair process in which all owners, including lawful heirs, would have an opportunity to participate.
Hop On said it would convene the owners’ meeting to safeguard residents’ rights, although no timeline or confirmation of a physical format has been provided.
