Greater Bay Airlines announced it will increase fuel surcharges on certain routes starting next Wednesday due to rising fuel prices.
The airline said the adjustment will apply to flights departing from Hong Kong as well as those departing from other places.
Under the revised rates, the fuel surcharge for these routes will rise 1.04 times from the current HK$142 to HK$290.
For flights from Hong Kong to the Maldives, the one-way fuel surcharge will increase from HK$284 to HK$541, representing nearly a doubling of the current charge.
Fuel surcharges for mainland China routes will remain unchanged, the airline said.
The carrier noted that fuel surcharge levels are reviewed under its established mechanism and that any adjustments will be updated on its official website.
The announcement follows similar moves by other Hong Kong airlines. Cathay Pacific, HK Express and Hong Kong Airlines have recently also announced increases in fuel surcharges.
