A reported theft of 56 diamond jewelry pieces from a Sheung Wan shop on Monday afternoon was later classified as a misunderstanding after the shop owner’s husband was found to have taken them.

At 12.38pm today, police received a report from staff at a jewelry and antique shop in the basement of Midland Plaza, 328 Queen’s Road Central, Sheung Wan, stating that 56 diamond jewelry items were missing and suspected stolen.
Officers attended but found no signs of break-in, initially treating the case as theft.
Further investigation revealed the shop’s female owner discovered her husband had taken the items, resolving the matter as a misunderstanding.
