(Video) Taxi driver and passenger injured in three-vehicle collision in Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Tunnel

A taxi driver and a female passenger suffered injuries after their taxi was struck by a private car in a three-vehicle collision in the Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Tunnel heading towards the airport on Wednesday morning. 

According to online dashcam footage, a New Territories green taxi was travelling in the fast lane of the tunnel when a private car suddenly approached at high speed from behind and crashed into its rear, pushing the taxi forward. 

The private car then veered into the adjacent slow lane, where it hit a blue private car before crashing into the left tunnel wall. The vehicle then rebounded back into the fast lane and collided with the taxi once more. 

The taxi driver reported chest and neck pain, while the female passenger sustained minor injuries. The driver was able to exit the taxi unassisted. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
